OmniAccess Stellar access points are powered by OmniSwitch switches over PoE and managed from the same OmniVista platform. The same access rules apply whether a user connects by cable or over Wi-Fi.
Typically a 48-port PoE switch from the OmniSwitch 2360 or 6360 range, possibly two in a stack for redundancy. The final choice depends on how many IP phones, cameras and access points need PoE and on the uplink speed to your servers.
Yes. OmniSwitch uses standard protocols (802.1Q VLANs, LACP, STP, OSPF, 802.1X), so it can be integrated into an existing network and gradually replace other vendors' equipment.
Power over Ethernet powers IP phones, Wi-Fi access points and video cameras through the network cable, with no extra power outlets. OmniSwitch models offer PoE, PoE+ and, on selected models, HPoE of up to 95 W per port.
Yes. OmniSwitch 6465 and 6865 are fanless, DIN-rail industrial switches resistant to vibration and interference; the OmniSwitch 6865 operates from -40 °C to +74 °C.
